The best way to choose your cake is to book a private tasting session with Cake Fiction Chef Paula Tosonotti in the historic Montrose district of South Orange, New Jersey. At the tasting she will help you select your preferred cake design, and then base the cake theme around your story; So be sure to bring any pictures, ideas, colors, invitations or other items that will help us create the cake to showcase your special event.

You will be able to sample some of our cake flavors and fillings, as well as see how we create decorations such as gum paste flowers and characters using marzipan or rolled fondant. We will also provide you with a list of options such as sugar flower bouquets, special display stands and cake toppers or accessories to add a final touch.

The tasting, which costs $30, lasts one hour. We will offer you and your guests different cake, cupcakes or mini-cakes to see what flavors, fillings and icing you prefer. Please note that we do limit the number of guests at any tasting session to 4 people. Pick your choice of three cake flavors and fillings, I do require at least three days notice in order to prepare your selection, unless they are already on my schedule for cake orders that week.

Our tasting session hours are mostly on evenings and at weekends, but we try to be as flexible as possible in order to accommodate you in our busy cake decorating schedule.

In order to keep up with our schedule of cake bookings we do ask you to be punctual, that way we can dedicate a full hour to planning your cake. In the event that you need to reschedule, or cancel, we require no less than 48 hours notice. Call us on 973-762-7841 to book your tasting session.
